R&R Anniversary Issue: Trends, Cleaners to Watch, & Letters from Thought Leaders

Looking closely at the last decade, today, and into the future of the restoration and remediation industry.

Restoration & Remediation magazine was created in 2007 to be a voice and educational platform for restoration contractors. Today, we are a full-blown media brand dedicate solely to the restoration industry. R&R’s growth is largely thanks to the willingness of hundreds of industry experts to share their knowledge and insights within the pages of R&R. It is thanks to all these contributors and sources that you, our readers, have trust in us.

The first issue of R&R covered how to get paid more quickly, especially on large losses, bioterrorism cleanup, and The Pittsburgh Protocol for Microbial Remediation (just to name a few). Since then, there have new microbial remediation techniques discussed, a multitude of new products released, and a number of changes in IICRC and other standards guiding the industry toward effective best practices. However, the core of what R&R covers each month has really not changed much at all. Today, biohazard cleanup and forensic restoration are, unfortunately, bigger than ever. Training in those areas has grown leaps and bounds in the last decade, and remediators are more prepared now than ever for dealing with the worst. Then, there are topics like getting paid. Hmm, has that changed much for your company in the last decade?

While we don’t know all the stats from the early days of R&R, it was initially a bimonthly publication. For the past several years, it has been a monthly magazine. And it now reaches the mailboxes and inboxes of nearly 20,000 restoration professionals every month. In addition, www.randrmagonline.com now has upwards of 20,000 visits a month, up from just 4,000 a month two years ago. And has an ever-growing following across our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages.

But again, this isn’t all about us. We are celebrating this anniversary thanks to you – our readers, our contributors, and our advertisers.

This special anniversary issue broke down into several sections, as well as a timeline of major events that impacted the industry over the last decade.
